Day 11: Gogi Berries

What are Gogi berries? I've never heard of them until I saw a bag of Gogi berries at the supermarket. They looked interesting to me so I bought a bag. I did some research and found out that they're high in antioxidants and might protect the body from cancer cells. Well I will try anything if it's not harmful and the benefits are high. They taste like dry fruit but not like any other fruit that I've had. They're red in color and look almost like raisins but the taste is sweet and sour.

Gogi berries can be consumed on their own, with cereal or made into tea.
They have seed inside

I made my own tea and it was not bad at all. I let it sit for 10min and then I drank it. The gogi berries became soft and I enjoyed eating them.

I added cinnamon to my gogi berry tea. They doubled in size when I added hot water.

I read that caution should be taken if Gogi berries are used while on medicine because eating too many Gogi berries might thin the blood. Check with your doctor if Gogi berries are good for you.
